We are a support group for people who stutter, their families, their friends, and anyone with a genuine interest in  stuttering and the people who stutter.

Eastern Maine Chapter of the National Stuttering Association

Come join us for our next Zoom meeting!   Tuesday May 21, 2024  from 6:30 to 8:00.

Email Marybeth for a zoom link.

Contact Marybeth (mballenslp@gmail.com) for more info!  All are welcome.

For our ZOOM meetings.: Marybeth will disseminate the Zoom link to our distribution list before the meeting.  If you are new to our group, please contact Marybeth Allen at mballenslp@gmail.com or Natalie Bragan at nattybee3@gmail.com for more information and how to join.  For the safety of everyone participating, anyone to whom we have not sent a link will not be admitted.

Due to the current health climate and our dedication to protecting our members, our in-person NSA Chapter meetings will be held virtually for foreseeable future.  Typical in-person meetings are held on dates that work the for most members @ 6:30PM located in  Dysart's Restaurant, Hermon, ME.    We order off  the menu (not required!) and have good discussions and support.  All things stuttering are on the agenda.  We wind up and adjourn by 8:00.   All are welcome.  If you are a 1st timer, look for us in the right side section of the restaurant and/or call Marybeth (207-944-8045, mballenslp@gmail.com) for more info.  (See Directions tab)

Virtual Meetings/Hang Outs

Can't come to a physical meeting? Want to talk to someone who attends about the meeting before joining? No problem! Let's discuss a call, Google Hangout or Zoom session.

Just go to our contact page and reach out.

All are welcome!

When we meet in person, we meet at Dysart's Restaurant in Hermon, ME.  Just off exit 180 on I-95.

If you haven't met with us there before, we "take over" a large table at the back of the room. Order off the menu if you need dinner or dessert. We have great conversations and discuss what is important to us! Rest assured all are welcome and encouraged - as you feel comfortable - to talk and listen in a safe and judgement-free space.

Check out what's new!  A word from our Chapter...

Our newest member, Christopher Kessler, Representative for District #32 in our Maine Legislature, published an article in the Portland Press Harold for International Stuttering Awareness day 2020.  Check it out if you have time.

One segment from this book put out for International Stuttering Awareness Day 2020 was the chapter entitled, "Why Stutter More?" by Emma Alpern. It is a beautiful perspective on stuttering, fluency and language. I encourage you all to give it a read. It isn’t long.
