Dear Home Owners,
A home owner on Ashbury Court recently reported a burglary in which they accidentally left their garage door open all night and in the morning discovered someone had rummaged through their unlocked vehicles and stolen an iPad out of one of them.
This is just a reminder that with the good weather finally here, we often get busy unloading our vehicles or doing outdoor projects and forget to close and lock our garage doors or vehicle doors. And even though we live in a quiet and secure neighborhood, there are always those element of people who will take advantage of an easy opportunity to commit a crime. So please, remember to close your garage doors and lock your vehicles and home doors at night. Let's not make it easy for criminals.
This is only the second burglary we've had in the past 7 years, or so. The previous one also involved a vehicle burglary of an unlocked truck parked in a driveway.
If you see someone who doesn't belong in the neighborhood such as someone with a backpack walking our streets in the early morning or late at night, please call the Sheriff's Dept. at 360-778-6600 to report a suspicious person. We live in a private community and people who don't belong here should not be walking our streets. Also, authorities are happy to make a drive through - if they have the time.
