It was decided at the last Board Meeting on May 12, 2019 to trying and keep the Monthly Newsletter going for the HOA members and renters living in the neighborhood. If anyone has any noteworthy news or events that they would like to share in the newsletter, please send them to Kathy Barnes at barnesfern@comcast.net no later than the 20th of the month.
Reminders NO FIREWORKS:
Everyone including homeowners and renters need to know that NO FIREWORKS are allowed in the neighborhood at all. This means guests and family members need to know this as fines will occur for anyone not following this rule.
Please enjoy the City of Blaine 4th of July Fireworks display or other public fireworks displays in the community.
Summer Quarterly Board Meeting:
The Summer Quarterly Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday August 12, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 pm at 8693 Ashbury Court. HOA members are invited to attend quarterly meetings. This is a good time for new members to meet neighbors too.
Loomis Trail Golf Course Grill is Now Open and A Full Service Bar:
The Grill reopened a few weeks ago at the golf course. They are serving breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and late afternoon food selections from 7:00 am - 7:00pm. Also, worth a visit is the new full service bar as well. Stop by and take a peak and have lunch at the Grill.
Summer Quarterly Neighborhood Drive Through Happened On June 26, 2019:
On June 26th the summer quarterly neighborhood drive through occurred. Some homeowners will be getting phone calls and/or letters regarding maintaining their landscaping such as weeding, trimming of trees/shrubs, and more. It is important for all lot owners to maintain their properties for the best interest of the entire HOA. Currently, there are 7 properties listed for sale and everyone needs to realize keeping properties maintained is vital to everyone’s real estate investment. There are several homeowners that do not live full-time in their homes and are not always nearby to see what condition their yards are in. It is each homeowner’s responsibility to either maintain it themselves or hire a landscaper/gardener to care for their landscaping needs.
Dog Poop Needs to be Mentioned Again:
First, thanks to all dog owners for keeping your dogs on leashes and for picking up dog poop. For the past several months this issue had improved; however, just in the past 10 days dog poop is being found again on Castlerock and Cambridge Loop. Please know homeowners are not happy about this. Please share with family members and guests that it is the responsibility of a dog walker to pick up their dog’s waste at all times, whether that’s walking or running with your dog.
Open Houses and Gate Opening:
For any realtors having an Open House, it is important for a homeowner to inform their realtor that Gate Codes cannot be posted at the Gates. It is up to the realtor to call and/or text and leave Ryan Barnes a message at barnesfern@comcast.net so the front gate can be manually opened for your open house. Please give him at least 3 days prior notice.
Reminder the Speed Limit is 15 MPH:
Please everyone obey the speed limit signs in the neighborhood and also remind family members too.
Mail Delivery:
In the past month many neighbors have been getting other people’s mail and packages in their mail boxes. This can be very frustrating. Please be a good neighbor - if you get someone else’s mail, let the Post Office know as they are working on reducing delivery errors. Reporting it is important. Please contact the Blaine Post Office staff with the date your received the incorrect mail so that the right carrier can be communicated with. Also, thanks to the many neighbors that kindly and responsibly take the mail to their neighbors when a delivery error has occurred.
Safety of the Neighborhood:
With coming warmer days of summer, it is important that homeowners who keep their windows, doors, or garage doors open to be careful not to make it easier for a crime to occur. Even though we are gated community theft, burglary, and other crimes can still happen. So try and close your home windows and doors at night and be sure to keep your vehicle locked at night. If anyone sees anything unusual happening in the neighborhood, it is best to call 911 and report it to keep our neighborhood safe.
Is There Interest In a Neighborhood Garage Sale?
A homeowner asked about the possibility of having a neighborhood garage sale this summer and what steps have to be taken to make it come together. The answer is first to see if there is enough interest to hold one. If you are interested in having a neighborhood garage sale, then please attend the next board meeting on August 12, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at 8693 Ashbury court. Typically the sale is held in August or September on a Saturday with the gates open from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.
