Summer and Father’s Day June 21, 2020
The weather is looking a lot like summer coming up in the next 10 days and Father’s Day looks promising. For those spending time with their loved ones on Father’s Day, enjoy your time with your dad, grandpa, and family making lasting memories.
Summer will continue to bring warmer temperatures and more families and children riding their bikes and/or walking throughout the day. More children are moving to the area and it is important to go the speed limit in the neighborhood which is 15 mph. Please share this will all drivers in your household. It is also important for all business vendors and landscapers that neighbors use to be reminded of this too when hiring them.
Homeowners, landscapers, vendors, and guests need to use driveways to park their vehicles in or use the pull-outs, not the streets to park on. Parking on the road or sidewalks is not safe for other cars that travel on the roadways or for young bike riders having to go around cars. Please keep this in mind. If someone is renting a house or having visitors come to their home, please share this with them too.
Thank You to Neighbors for Supporting our Seniors Jenna and Hayley:
It is nice that so many neighbors (even though not everyone knew the two high school graduating seniors) to cheer the girls on as they graduated from Lynden Christian High School and Blaine High School. Both girls were touched by the many waves, personal greetings, and cheerful smiling faces by families.

Received This Thank You Letter from Jenna That She Requested to Print in the HOA Newsletter:
Jenna’s Letter:
Wow! It is official. We have the best neighbors ever! A simple “thank you” seems quite inadequate with all the love and support that was shown during the grad parade. When I was driving around the neighborhood, I could never have anticipated how many people cared for us graduates and supported from afar. From flowers to balloons, cookies to cards, and smiles to the sweetest handmade signs in the world. I am beyond humbled by your generosity. Losing the end of my senior year has been very difficult, but the graduation parade made my senior year complete. I now have a sense of closure and am excited to see what the new adventures bring. So even though I do not know all of you personally (although I wish I did), please know that I am forever grateful for your thoughtfulness, encouragement, and a graduation I will never forget.
Blessings,
Jenna

Summer Drive of the Neighborhood – Last Week of June
The summer quarterly drive thru is coming up again. During the drive thru several things are looked throughout the year. A big thank you to those that have worked hard to follow through with the last quarterly review of items that needed to be done. It is much appreciated that Judy follows up with emails, phone calls, and letters to make sure items are taken care of. There are still a few outstanding items from the winter review that will be addressed at the next board meeting once this can be scheduled again. Hopefully, Whatcom County can move to Phase 3 in coming weeks and a board meeting will be held.
The main focus of the drive thru is to make sure homeowners and renters are following the HOA CC& R’s in several areas such as:
Landscaping which entails, ongoing lawn mowing, weeding of landscaped beds and disposing of weeds, trimming trees and shrubs and disposing of debris, raking of leaves and old yard waste that collects, adding more bark when necessary where landscaped fabric starts showing visibly, disposing of plant containers that are not in use, and making sure that no overgrowth of property trees and shrubs are growing into sidewalk areas.
Lots and Mowing
Garbage cans and totes need to be out of sight from driveways and not visible from the street.
Other items that come up at times are parking concerns, items in driveways, and miscellaneous random items.
July 4th – No Fireworks - Family Celebrations Still Makes Memories
For new home buyers and renters, this is an official reminder and notification that no fireworks are allowed in the neighborhood. As most people probably already know, there will be no firework displays in Blaine this year. Let’s hope this big event and the parade will return next year.
Dogs in the Neighborhood:
Please keep dogs on leashes in the neighborhood when walking. This is respected by all dog walkers as it makes their walks much more enjoyable. Dogs can be unpredictable, no matter how nice dogs are. When some dog owners respect the leash rule and others don’t it makes it hard in some situations for dog owners to walk their dogs. Also, when visitors are in the neighborhood make sure and explain the rules to your family members and guest too.
Thanks to the neighbors that contributed and contacted me to share information for this updated newsletter. Please contact me for the next newsletter no later than July 7th by calling (360) 305-5508 or email me at barnesfern@comcast.net.
Best Regards,
