HOA Homeowners and Renters Please Read This Important Newsletter:
First off, I have not written a newsletter since October 2019 and it is time to share important information with everything going on in our state, in the US and in our community that we live in. As neighbors some people know each other and others do not, but we have one thing in common: we are all being impacted in some way or another with what is going on in the world. Hopefully, everyone is keeping updated on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) with information and updates; however, there is so much information changing rapidly and daily, and we need to make sure our own neighbors know that we care about them.
Currently, we don’t have a good way of knowing which neighbors have needs that maybe a group of neighbors can assist with, in terms of basic essentials and/or other resources. We all want to stay healthy during this stressful time when people can easily get overwhelmed. Some neighbors live with family, friends, partners, and some may live alone and possibly need assistance, and we are all going through social distancing and/or not leaving our homes, so this is a time to care for each other and see if neighbors need resources and assistance.
A Very Big Thanks to Hillary Rockwell for contacting me a few days ago with her deep concern to volunteer in any way she could to assist our HOA neighbors that might need help of some sort. She has signed up as a helper with the Facebook Group “Birch Bay/Blaine/Semiahmoo/Pt. Roberts Covid-19 Community Helpers” which connects those in need with those who can help. She is also finding out about a phone hotline being set up for those who need to call in, who are not on Facebook. She will share this information as it becomes available. Hopefully we can all help each other as neighbors, but it’s good to know there is a broader help network being established in our surrounding Birch Bay community.
Some neighbors also may be connected to “Nextdoor” – a website and app for those in our immediate area, to which I subscribe. This is another form of communication and sharing of information and updates. It is a great tool for finding out who in our neighborhood may need help with things like delivering groceries, providing critical information during an emergency, sharing tips on things like the correct way to wash hands and avoid spreading germs, and much more.
We also are fully aware that not everyone reads their emails and some do not even have email addresses or Facebook. It is my hope that Judy at Elite Management could reach out to the neighbors she knows may only communicate by phone or regular mail, so that we can do our best to include everyone to the best of our ability. At this time, the Volunteer Committee that quickly got formed to be helpers in our neighborhood are as follows with permission to give their contact information:

Dog Reminders:
I have been in communication with Justin at the Loomis Trail Golf Course and all homeowners, renters, family members, and guests visiting must NOT have any dogs on the golf course at any time. This includes all of their grass properties too. Also, no one is allowed to let their dogs out even early in the morning or after hours for homeowners that live around the golf course area perimeters. No walkers are allowed on the paved pathways all along the golf course even early in the morning or late in the evening. The golf course is for their golfers. The good news is that walkers and dogs can continue to be on leashes walking with their owner through the parking lot areas. This has not been a problem and it has been much appreciated that all dog owners have done an excellent job picking up their dog droppings. It is important that we be good neighbors and adhere to the golf course rules and make sure all family members understand them and are informed.
As new HOA members purchase homes or rent homes, we want to make sure they know that all family members must have their dogs on a leash when walking their dogs in the neighborhood. It is much appreciated that there have been very few instances of dog poop in the neighborhood too.
Speed Limit Reminder:
Spring is here and school is closed so please watch your speed. More families will be walking, riding bikes, walking their dogs, and so it is important to not speed in the neighborhood to ensure safety.
Parking:
Homeowners, please do not park cars on the road as this is a safety issue for cars and children in the area. Complaints are being made, addressed, and homeowners are being notified. Park in your driveways, garages, pull outs if necessary (on a limited basis), and not on the street.
Garbage Cans:
This is a continued reminder for homeowners/renters to try not and put your garbage out more than two days ahead of the Monday pick-up date. Also, please bring your garbage cans and totes in within two days. If you are not home, please kindly ask a neighbor or friend to help out.
Home Sales:
Homes continue to sell in our Loomis Trail neighborhood. Please be a good neighbor and take care of your landscaping at all times. First impressions are important as potential buyers drive through the neighborhood, seeing yards are mowed, flower beds weeded, trees and shrubs trimmed, and homes are maintained and looking clean.
WRS Landscaping:
The front main gate will have flowers planted in late April or early May. The large planters at the other entrance by the golf course will be put out in a few weeks.
Quarterly Neighborhood Drive-Through Happening the 3rd week of April:
Just a “heads-up” to use the nice weather to get your homes looking beautiful for the spring drive-through of the neighborhood. It is important for all homes to look their best at all times, as real estate is an investment and curb appeal is one of the many reasons people buy homes here (as mentioned under “Home Sales” above).
