Memorial Weekend:
This weekend may be different for many people and families with the Stay at Home Order still in effect. If you are traveling or staying at home make the best of it doing fun activities with a decent weather forecasted ahead. For many of us living in our neighborhood, we are fortunate to have local beaches to enjoy close by. Sometimes it is hard to just relax, take a walk, beach comb, take a bike ride, and simply enjoy the beauty of Birch Bay, Blaine, Harbor, and Semiahmoo so close to our neighborhood. Many neighbors are also finding these areas have picnic tables to enjoy too. If going on a picnic, also remember families can pick up a “To Go Order” from a local restaurant or grocery store and support the many small businesses in the area this weekend.
It is also a time to remember our loved ones and Veteran’s that have passed away by bringing flowers and/or flags to a graveside this weekend. I have seen several flags in the neighborhood displayed on homes already.
High School Senior Graduates in the Neighborhood – A Time to Celebrate With Them as Neighbors
COVID-19 has brought many challenges in life in so many different ways. Lives have been lost across our world and many celebrations have not been able to happen from weddings, memorials, graduations and more. This has affected many neighbors with events being canceled or post phoned; and for high school senior graduation celebrations.
Heather Jackson lives at Ashbury Court and reached out to me and is making sure that two of our seniors are not forgotten. We may even have a few more that we are not aware of that might be graduating from other high schools and/or colleges so Heather would like others to be recognized too by calling her or texting her with information. So with this in mind, Heather Jackson is organizing a “Graduation Parade of Neighborhood Graduates” for all of the neighbors that want to join in to honor them. The details that are known at this time are as follows:
IMPORTANT: JOIN US IN CELEBRATING LOOMIS TRAIL GRADUATES – All While Maintaining Social Distancing
When: Friday - June 5, 2020 from 3:00pm-3:30pm
What: Graduates will be in cars with their parents driving through the neighborhood. For any graduates, please join in the parade and enjoy the community support. This includes high school and any college graduates.
Who: Neighbors will be in their driveways to cheer them on with signs, big waves, clapping, and whatever else neighbors want to do to congratulate them to make it memorable for them since they won’t be having a normal graduation ceremony.
Contact: Heather F. Bohac-Jackson can be contacted by phone/text at (512) 422-5080 or by email at barkpurrsit@gmail.com with any questions and the names of all graduates so that we everyone is included in the neighborhood. Please neighbors show your support!
NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD July 4th:
As many people know, major firework display events have been canceled this year due to COVID-19. This is a reminder for current and new homeowners, and renters that no fireworks are allowed in the neighborhood in Loomis Trail.
Home Construction/Changes in Paint Colors, Changes to Front Yards, Lot Mowing, and More:
As a reminder, homes being constructed or being remodeled have deadlines to adhere too so keep this in mind. During the summer months it tends to be the time that homeowners paint their homes and any change of colors need to be approved before a house is painted so that a fine does not happen. Front yard landscaping plans need prior approval before making changes as well and all CC & R’s need to be followed. Requests need to be put in writing and submitted to Judy Hamner for board approval which can take up to several weeks to approve or deny. Vacant lots and lots that are being built on must be maintained and weeds mowed and/or trimmed on a regular basis, just like any other homeowner does. It is much appreciated by all homeowners in the neighborhood that this is practiced throughout the year.
Introduction of Neighbors Bob and Mary Jo McCoy and Their Dog – Bugatti:
In the last newsletter I wrote, I asked if anyone would like to be the first person to be introduced in the neighborhood and Mary Jo contacted me about their wonderful new addition to their family and that was their dog Bugatti. Mary and her husband Bob McCoy love living in the neighborhood. Bob currently serves as a volunteer as the Treasurer of the HOA Board of Directors and has held a variety of positions over the many years they have lived in the neighborhood. Mary Jo and Bob have raised their family and have been the happy owners of Bugatti their beloved dog now for over a year.
Bugatti is 5 years old and is a poodle, from Stuggart, Germany. He loves to run, jump, and rule the McCoy’s home. The McCoy’s feed their dog only dog food, no human food. Before, Mary Jo and Bob got Bugatti he was a stud for Littleton Ranch. Many of the dog’s offspring are aussiedoodles and very cute. (see photo attached to this newsletter) The McCoy’s also love their dog and he does not bite or bark. He loves to be petted and can’t get enough love. So if you pass them in the neighborhood, say hello, and know their dog is very well mannered in meeting new dogs, neighbors, and children.
Welcome to the neighborhood Bugatti with all the many dogs in the neighborhood!
