The water levels in our lateral ditch are running low: this comes as no surprise as farmers have cut and removed their grass/ alfalfa and are now flood irrigating their fields. We have zero control over the amount of water we receive. Our pumps operate off of a valve float system and will cycle themselves on and off depending on the available water levels in our holding tank. We apologize for any concerns or frustrations this may cause. This post will be updated when the water levels reaching our holding tank increase.
6/20/2021: The water levels in the lateral are still very low. The fields along J 6/10 Road and 19 Road are in the process of being flooded, and it is impossible to tell when our water will return to normal levels. To stretch our resources, we are asking neighbors to cut back on their water usage: if you water each zone for 30 minutes you could cut this back to 15 minutes a zone, or if you water zones twice a day please cut it back to once (as this is the way the water schedule was written). Hopefully this will keep some of your neighbors from not getting any water at all.
Due to the heat there is also an increased amount of algae in the irrigation ditch, which can slow down water coming through the headgate at K Road (near 20 Road). It is the responsibility of every water-user on the lateral to keep this headgate free of debris.
