Hello neighbors!
We are still waiting for the irrigation water to clear up from the heavy rains and mudslides up-river.
We have also been having issues with the drainage ditch along the northern boundary of the subdivision: many of the water users on the lateral are dumping the dirty water directly into the drainage, which is causing the water to rise up out of the ditch onto our trails and into the back of our irrigation holding pond. This is filling our pond with muddy silt and prevents us from having a vacuum truck come in to remove the silt (again). Though the irrigation company has turned the lateral water down to prevent further flooding, there is still a lot coming down the drainage ditch. Hopefully when the water clears, the up-lateral water users will start using their water shares and we will be able to get our system back up and running.
Thankfully we have had several good rains and the neighborhood is looking green and lovely. We will update the website when we have a better idea of the timeline for getting the pond cleaned and the pumps back on.
Update 9/07/2021: the drainage ditch has receded and we are working on having a vac truck come out to clean the silt out of the tank, and they are understandably very busy right now! We are also keeping an eye on the irrigation water, which is carrying a lot of silt with it still. Once the pond has been cleaned and the water has cleared we will flush the system and get the pumps running on schedule again. We understand you are frustrated, please know we are doing all we can and nature will not be rushed: it costs time and money when the pond needs to be cleaned so we don't want to jump the gun and find ourselves having to turn the system back off to remove silt yet again this season. Thank you for your patience.
Update 9/9/2021: the vac/jetter truck will be out first thing tomorrow morning to remove the silt from the irrigation holding tank. That will take the majority of the morning to complete and then we will flush the Main Lines so the mud doesn’t clog the open area sprinklers and privately owned sprinkler systems. When the pumps are on the regular schedule, we will update you here.
As a side note, the HOA does NOT post on social media. Our website address is posted on all three subdivision entrances and on all correspondence from your Board. Please feel free to share the link to the webpage with your neighbors, as this website is the most appropriate place to find updates about neighborhood news. Thank you!
Update 9/10/2021: it took longer than anticipated to clean the holding pond (we broke the truck), but we got it done. We will now flush the Main Lines. Do not attempt to water while we do this, the HOA will not be held responsible for damages to private systems from the mud we are trying to flush from our system. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your patience during these frustrating times.
