Over the weekend the Board received notification of an ATV wreck in the neighborhood involving property damage and possible injuries. The Fruita Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
This wreck highlights the importance of the appropriate use of motorized vehicles on the streets and trails within the subdivision. The City of Fruita does not allow the use of Off-Highway Vehicles (any motorized vehicle not designed for highway use to include ATVs, dune buggies, etc.) on streets or trails within city limits. The HOA does not allow vehicles, outside of service vehicles, to drive on or be parked along the trails within the subdivision: any vehicles parked in the common areas will be towed away at the owner’s expense.
As a member and/or resident of the neighborhood you are empowered to stop this behavior by educating the offender and notifying the Fruita Police Department and the Board of the violation. The number to non-emergency dispatch is 970-242-6707, and you can request to remain anonymous: the dispatcher will ask you for a cross street and a basic description of the vehicle and the rider. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Board!
