Minutes of August 2014 Meeting
Membership: We currently have 78 paid members, including family.
Announcements: Elections of Board of Directors were held at the August
meeting.Newly elected board members include Tim Cassity-Curtiss, Mark
Baskin, David Pai, John Skocilic and Jim Malone, all elected unaminously.

Old and New Business: ANA presented our Greater Orange County Coin
Club with an anniversary plaque celebrating 25 years of membership. No
progress to report on our efforts to establish our club with a legal identity.
Mike Kittle, attorney and friend of Jeff Stahl,is reviewing our bylaws and
determining the best way for us to continue. Mike is also president of
Glendale Coin club. He has graciously agreed to help us legally with the
club paying only filing fees.
Donations: "We recently received a donation of a variety of coin club
items formerly belonging to Eileen and Charles Boothe. Many of these
items were auctioned during our meeting. Another set of numismatic
books have been donated by Mike Gilbert, a former member . These will
be available for viewing at future meetings. Thank you to all these donors.
Meeting Program:David Schwager presented a very thorough and
interesting talk on the Waterbury Mint and the Medals, Tokens and Coins of
the Scovill Manufacturing Company. He described the activities of Scovill
in its over 200 years of existence and discussed how it re-invented itself
continuously .A great talk, as usual, from David.
Prizes: Dos Pesos winner was Jim Malone and Glen Franks won the 1/10th
oz. gold.
