Speaker:
Paul Dofton, "An Introduction to Conder Tokens"
Refreshments:
Thank you to John and John for providing refreshments at our last meeting.
Announcements:
We hope everyone is staying healthy and sane as we deal with the unusual circumstances we find ourselves in right now.
Due to the current social distancing measures in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our club will not be meeting in-person until it is advisable to do so. Instead, we will be hosting a virtual club meeting on the same day and time that we usually meet: This upcoming Wednesday, April 8th, at 7:00pm.
We will be using the Zoom conferencing platform to host the meeting. It sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is. Here are some simple instructions on how to join the meeting:
If you are using a computer or smartphone, you can join the meeting by clicking this link on Wednesday evening:
If you plan to dial-in with a regular telephone:
call this number: (213)338-8477
and enter this meeting ID: 501 897 725
If your computer doesn't have a microphone, you can still join the video feed of meeting using your computer by clicking the Zoom link above, but you will need to also dial-in with your telephone in order to be able to speak to the group.
I will launch the Zoom conference room at 6:30pm on Wednesday. If you try to join the conference prior to that time, you will not be able to.
Numismatic Community:
If you'd like to invite any members from other coin clubs, or any fellow collectors or enthusiasts, to our meeting on Wednesday, please feel free to share or forward this email to whoever you wish. All are welcome and encouraged to join.
We did a trial run using the conferencing platform and it worked out really great. We also got a sneak peek at Paul's Conder Token presentation—its very interesting and really well-done.
Education Program:
Last month, Nate Butler gave us his 3rd GOCCC presentation, this time on toned copper and nickel US coinage.
Upcoming Events:
Most local and national coin shows have been postponed.
You can find information about future coin shows at coinzip.com
Respectfully submitted,
Nate Butler
