We have some sad news to share from our friends at the Long Beach Coin Club regarding the passing of LBCC Treasurer Greg Heistand.
"Hello LBCC Members;
I have some sad News concerning our LBCC Treasurer Greg Heistand, he passed away yesterday while working under a unsupported vehicle (not on Jack-Stands in the air), that fell on him and took his life.
Greg has a Sister, Niece and Nephew as the only living Relatives known living, and we are trying to make contact with at least one of them so we can notify the Long Beach Police and City Authorities (which are also trying to notify them) to find out how Greg's remains and estate will be dealt with. We also need to be able to retrieve the Long Beach Coin Clubs Treasurers Property which Greg maintained at his home. Currently there is no hurry concerning this issue for us, but Greg and his Sister were not on favorable speaking terms due to the settlement of his Mom and Dads Home and property when they (his Mom & Dad) passed away several years ago. Our LBCC Banking funds are in in secure hands, in that there are Three (3) other LBCC Members who are on signature cards at the bank (Farmers and Merchant Bank), and we also have access to the Long Beach Postal P.O. Box.
Please think of Greg in a good way, he was an important member to our Long Beach Coin Club, as were his Mom & Dad (Gwen and Warren Heistand), who were also long time LBCC members and on the Executive Staff of our club before both passing away.
I hope all of you are well, and not suffering through this 2020 Election cycle and Virus that is upon us. I say God Bless you all and hope that 2021 will bring a favorable end to all this mess we are living through.
Regards Howard Feltham
LBCC President"
Due to ongoing measures in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our club will not be meeting in-person until it is advisable to do so. It is still unclear when the time will come where we'll be able to meet in the way we're used to, but until then we will continue to host our club meetings virtually for those interested in participating.
Our virtual club meeting will take place on the same day and time that we usually meet; every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm. Our next meeting is this upcoming Wednesday, November 11th, 2020. Instructions for how to join the virtual meeting can be found below in the "How To Join The Meeting" section.
We will continue to include Show & Tell in our monthly virtual meetings. If you'd like to share something during this part of our meeting, please send me your images and what you'd like to talk about ahead of time. You can respond directly to this email and I will receive it.
