Minutes of September 2012 Meeting

Membership and Guests:

Greg Provencher is our latest new member. Welcome back to Brad and Janet, and Candy and Gary. We currently have 76 paid members.

Announcements:

Congratulations to Mike, Robert and Roy for winning educational exhibits at the recent Long Beach coin show. Mike won 1st place, Robert 2nd place and Roy 3rd place. Good job! Jim M. was a winner at the Golden States raffle drawings.

Old and New Business:

Our current room and Tuesday meeting night have been reserved at the Costa Mesa Community Center for CY 2013.

Laura continues to maintain our club website. She mentioned that she may need a replacement for next year. This is a good opportunity for someone to learn about maintaining web sites. Contact Laura on the site or at our meeting for questions and to express your interest in helping.

Our latest site update includes an announcement for the October CSNA Coin show in Long Beach. See Roy for exhibit applications.

A motion was passed to have the January banquet at Moonlight Pizza and Chicken in Fountain Valley on January 27, 2013.

Donations:

Kyle Ponterio of Stacks, Bowers and Ponterio donated a large quantity coin albums, catalogs, coin boxes and other supplies. Our club really appreciates this continuing generosity.

Meeting Program:

Jeff Stahl presented a very informative talk on ”Mexican Bank Notes". Jeff is one of our resident experts on Mexican currency and coins. This is one of the many advantages of belonging to our club. The expertise in US and foreign coins and currency seems unlimited and everyone is very helpful and eager to share their knowledge. Mikeʼs management of our educational programs demonstrates this every meeting.

Prizes:

Judy won the dos pesos gold.
