Minutes of September 2013 Meeting

Membership and Guests: We currently have 82 members paid for CY 2013. A special

welcome to our latest new member Nate Butler.

Announcements: Ideas are solicited for activities to fulfill our numismatic mission. Roy

Iwata has solicited exhibits for the upcoming CSNA educational symposium in Long

Beach on Nov.23-24. Applications will be available at our next meeting and must be

submitted to Roy by Nov. 18.

Old and New Business: Our club earned $93 selling drawing tickets for the Golden

States coin show. Two club members won gold coins (see below). Mike called for

suggestions on how our club could use some of its treasury to further promote

numismatics. Several ideas were presented and David Schwager will be posting them

on our website, along with additional thoughts from our membership. We provided club

members 25 free admission coupons for the recent Long Beach show. These will be

available as long as the show promoters continue to supply them to us. Revised bylaws

have been received by the officers and are awaiting review.

Donations: Our members continue to be very generous and it is appreciated.

Meeting Program: Jerry Kleeb presented an extremely interesting and informative talk

on “Ancient Coins-Copies and Counterfeits”. Another good job by Jerry.

Prizes: Ron Awerkamp won the Dos Pesos gold . David Pai and Jeff won gold coins at

the Golden States show.
