Minutes of January 2013 Meeting
Membership and Guests:
We currently have 39 members paid for CY 2013. Please pay your dues now ; otherwise you will be considered delinquent next month and lose all membership privileges.
Announcements:
Our annual banquet was held on Sunday, January 27 at Moonlight Pizza and Chicken, with 17 members attending and having a good evening of food and fellowship. The Long Beach Coin Show was held on Feb. 7-9.
Old and New Business:
Laura continues to maintain our club website, and we thank her for the continued support.
Donations:
A generous club member recently donated $50 for dues for five worthy and needy individuals and I recently sent a notice requesting nominations from all our membership. Our club really appreciates this type of generosity and the continuing donations from many other club members. The identity of all nominees will be held in strict confidence.
Meeting Program:
John Skocilic presented a very interesting and informative talk on “Small Size Currency Errors”. John did a nice job describing the manner in which various printing errors occurred and presented many examples. He also described how to identify currency errors which were counterfeit. This talk was a good example of our continuing commitment to educating our membership.
Prizes:
For the first time in several years, one person won our drawings for BOTH the Dos Pesos and the 1/10th oz. Gold coins. Congratulations Judy. Even Bliss, with all his luck, has not been able to accomplish this feat.
