Announcements:
Nominations are now open for the office of president to replace departing

CSNA will host the 133rd Convention and Coins show Nov 21-22 at the
Long Beach Airport Holiday Inn.
Several copies of the latest edition of “The California Numismatist” will be
available at our November meeting for our members, courtesy of Greg
Burns, editor of this award winning CSNA publication. We encourage your
membership in CSNA and the latest “California Numistmatist” will
familiarize you with our activities.
Old and New Business: Our CD matured on Oct.16 and Chris acted on
our October motion to transfer the entire amount of the CD funds into a
money market fund at our new bank, Bank of the West; only our savings
account remains at Farmers.
Since Manny has sold his HB Coin coin
store, we are awaiting for the new owner to establish the business model
for the new coin shop. It is our understanding that the bid board will no
longer exist. A new store in Laguna Woods (23582 Moulton Pkwy) called
Gold-Cards and Coins will feature a bid board closing on Wednesday
evening. Another new coin shop, Orange County Rare Coin and Bullion,
1927 Harbor Blvd, Unit B, Costa Mesa has opened. Several of our
members are checking these stores out and will provide information at our
meetings. Bob Patchinʼs Coin Gallery, 346 S. Tustin avenue in Orange is
also being visited by many members.
Donations: Thanks to those who continue to support our club with their
regular donations, support which is greatly appreciated.
Education Program: Our speaker was Mike Ontko “Coinage of the Papal
States, Part 1, up to Early 1700s”. As usual, Mike did an excellent job describing
early history of the papacy and associated coins.
Prizes: Harold Katzman won the Dos Pesos gold.
