Minutes of March 2012 meeting
Membership and Guests:
Dues for 2012 are now payable. We currently have 56 paid members, counting family members. Our latest new member is Tom Tallon.
Announcements:
Our bourse night will be held on June 12 this year.
Old and New Business:
Dan Jimerson has been elected as our new treasurer. Thanks to Les for filling in recently.
Several of our members participated in the CSNA 44th Annual Educational Symposium held on March 31, 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed all the speakers. These educational seminars have been a real success and I hope CSNA will continue to host them in the future.
Community Center personnel notified us that our rent will increase $5 per hour effective April 6 and also indicated that we could avoid the increase for the remainder of 2012 by paying the remaining 9 months rent. The officers agreed that the net savings of $157.50 was worth while so they authorized Bill Pfeifer to pay off the remaining lease; this has been done.
Laura continues to maintain our club website. Please reviewour latest progress. The latest addition is a series of meetings by the InternationalNumismatic Society Of San Diego. See our website for details and contact information.
Volunteers for meeting refreshments have now been identified for all of 2012 and the list of volunteers was published last month. We still need someone to handle coffee since Roy Iwata will be unable to continue. We want to thank Roy for consistently providing this service for many years.
Donations:
Many club members continue to donate worthy items for our club auctions, and our club really appreciates this continuing generosity.
Meeting Program:
Marchʼs educational program featured Les, talking on “Collecting U.S. Dimes”. Lesʼ presentation was very well organized and included many interesting illustrations. This was an extremely interesting and informative talk that was well done! This wasnʼt any surprise since we have come to expect this level of quality from Les.
