In this project you will take an unlit scene of some fruit on a plate, and light it. There is a lot of freedom in how you want to approach this, some ideas:
- Try to recreate the appearance of a classic painted still life.
- Think of a mood you want to convey, and use light to transmit it to the viewer.
- Try to recreate the light from a photograph.
- Think of a film genre you would like to try and mimic through lighting.
- Light a still life
- Gain a better understanding/control of Cinema 4D’s light objects.
- Describing Light
- Creating Lights
- Placing Lights
- Focusing Lights
You’ll need the following file(s) to complete this exercise.
- Download the above fruit bowl scene.
- Start by adding and placing one light, don't add additional lights until you are satisfied with the look of one - lighting problems are rarely solved by randomly adding more lights.
- Add and place additional lights until you like the final result.
- Render out your finished image and post it to your course projects blog.
