There are a few default Mac system preferences that can become frustrating when you're using Cinema 4D. This tutorial covers how to tweak your preferences to ensure you have full use of your middle mouse button in Cinema 4D.
1. Open your System Preferences.
2. Open Mission Control
3. Turn off show Dashboard with Middle Mouse Button.

5. Back in System Preferences, open your Mouse preferences.
6. Turn off "Scroll direction: natural" Also, if you have the option, ensure that your middle mouse button controls "Button 3".
7. You're now ready to start using Cinema 4D.
