Installing the Trial Version (Because you can't get a student login yet)

Create a Maxon ID / Profile

    1. Verify your Email / Account

  2. Download the Maxon App

  3. Open the Maxon App

  4. Install Cinema 4D

    1. OR Update Cinema 4D, if already installed

  5. In the Maxon App, click on "Start Trial" button

  6. Open Cinema 4D 25 (Not possible from the Maxon App)

Homework

What:

  1. Model a character using primitives (Cube, Cone, etc), add colors (using the Standard Material), pose the character, and compose a shot. (~2.5hrs)

Recommended before you start:

  1. Watch and follow along with the Party Bot Tutorial (~2hrs) or the first few videos of Getting Started in Cinema 4D.

Extension if your first character goes quickly:

  1. Model an additional character and/or fill out your character's environment with models you create using primitives. (~1.5hrs)

Deliverables:

Screenshots (or renderings) of:

  1. Your Character (Modeled from your imagination or a reference image)

Suggested filenames:

  1. CalArts_2021FallC4D_Wk01_Character_v01

Due: By the start of our next class session in our shared Google Drive.

Submission

  1. Open our classes Shared Google Drive folder.

  2. Navigate to the Dailies folder.

  3. Navigate to this week's folder.

  4. Add a folder with your FirstnameLastname

  5. Drop in your work.
