- Open “AssembleText_Start.c4d”
- Create a fracture object (Mograph -> Fracture)
- Select all of the splines inside of your Extrude Object
- Tip: To select multiple objects: click on the first object you want to select. Scroll down to the last object you want to select. Hold down the “shift” key on your #keyboard, and then click on the last object in the list.
- Drag your splines into your fracture object.
- Delete the extra Null that is no longer holding your splines.
- Drag fracture object into your Extrude NURBS.
- Ensure your Fracture Object is selected
Randomize/Disassemble Your Text
- Add a MoGraph->Random Effector to your scene.
- Click on your Random Effector and adjust the following attributes:
- Parameter->P.X = 0
- Parameter->P.Y = 0
- Parameter->P.Z = 300M
- Parameter->R.H = 360
- Go to Frame 0.
- In the attributes manager, go to your Random Effector, click on the Effector Tab.
- Add a keyframe for the strength parameter (should be 100%).
- To add a key: Ctrl. Click on the gray dot just to the left of the parameter
- Go to Frame 60.
- Change strength to 0%. Add a keyframe.
Extension Activity 1:
In a new scene try create an animation similar to this, where individual letters move randomly using the MoText object.
Extension Activity 2:
Try to recreate this whole scene from scratch using Adobe Illustrator to create text, and break it up into segments.
