The Orem city council voted to increase property taxes in a very dishonest way. The claim is that it was to hire 2 more police, but a much better solution is to use the general budget and reallocate funds. I will never vote for someone who increases debt and/or taxes. The vote was 5-2 in favor. The vote was 5-2. Millett and Muhlstein voted no and this represents a strong negative in my book.
Mike Kennedy was a sponsor in the Algorithem Accountability Act.
I prefer freedom to the possibly unintended consequences of this legislation. Among other things it hurts smaller players in the market because of the potentially very large costs of compliance. It will likely benefit politicians who are paid off to support such legislation and attorney businesses who make money with lawsuits.
