Minimum Wage
Minimum wage legislation actually hurts almost everyone, especially those who it's intended to help. It does this by:
- Raising costs for everyone, which hurts the poorest more than everyone else.
- The people who's labor isn't worth the minimum lose their jobs.
- Businesses are forced to automate more, reducing labor costs.
- Some businesses are forced to close and let all employees go because the business model is no longer viable without inexpensive labor.
- Important education on how to get and keep a job is delayed for teenagers and others just entering the workforce.
This happens because of basic economic principles, not because of greed.
