Minimum Wage

Minimum wage legislation actually hurts almost everyone, especially those who it's intended to help. It does this by:

  1. Raising costs for everyone, which hurts the poorest more than everyone else.
  2. The people who's labor isn't worth the minimum lose their jobs.
  3. Businesses are forced to automate more, reducing labor costs.
  4. Some businesses are forced to close and let all employees go because the business model is no longer viable without inexpensive labor.
  5. Important education on how to get and keep a job is delayed for teenagers and others just entering the workforce.

This happens because of basic economic principles, not because of greed.
