Dream Room

What's it look like?

If you're interested in this extra credit, make sure you've done Shopping Spree first so you understand the basics of Google Spreadsheets!

In Have A Seat, we learned how to make basic shapes by following the tutorials and creating a chair in Sketchup. In Shopping Spree, you made a list of what you'd want with an ideal room. Now, you will now have the opportunity to create something bigger! In this assignment, students will be creating a replica of their Dream Room with Google SketchUp. Students will be using the skills acquired through tutorials and independent research in order to create this room. The room should have the following features, at minimum:

Try to make it as realistic as possible! Please include as many details as you can, but you don't have to worry about all of the small things!

Once your Dream Room is created, use this template in order to create a list of at least five things from your room with their costs. Use the MIN, MAX, SUM, and AVERAGE tools in Google Sheets in order to figure out some statistics for the prices of the products. Then, compare at least three pictures of the real-life items and the 3D modeled items.

Take a look at the bottom of this page for my example of a modeled room (my spreadsheet example is here) and a rubric.

Don't Forget: To grab a screenshot from your room, use the Windows Snipping Tool!

Can I do this extra credit from home?: MAYBE (can you download Google Sketchup on your home computer?)
