A Unified Game
We've created a sample of a first-person shooter game within Unity! WOW!
Now we're going to extend the bounds of that project just a bit to give you a taste of what can be accomplished within the tool. From this point, you have two options:
OPTION ONE: INCREASE THE SCOPE OF YOUR SHOOTER GAME
Gosh! Making that FPS sure was a blast. How about we make it bigger and better?
In order to score full points for this option, here's what you must do:
Add at least two more rooms to the layout.
Add at least two more enemies to the layout.
Add something from an online asset pack.
Add music to the game and change a sound effect.
Change the texture/color on the walls or floor.
Change something about the physics of the character aside from jump height (movement speed, etc.)
Some of these things are pieces we didn't discuss! Just like Begin the Game, your job is to do additional research to deepen your understanding of the subject.
OPTION TWO: RUN THROUGH THE TUTORIAL FOR A DIFFERENT TYPE OF GAME
Not an FPS fan? No worries! There are four different game tutorials included in this Unity package, and your job is to do one of the other ones. You can work on:
LEGO Microgame
2D Platformer Microgame
Karting Microgame
Your job is to do all of the tutorials associated with the type of game that you've chosen and publish the game. Then, Mr. Alexander will come around and test it out!
