Find Your Place

For this assignment, you're going to tell me about three of your favorite places. These can be close to home, or they can be very far away. You're going to give me a virtual tour of these things using your voice, and a visual tour of them using the tool Google Maps. 

Process:

1. Go to maps.google.com and type one of your favorite places into the search box (this can be a restaurant, amusement park, relative's house, etc.)

2. Add two more locations to the trip using the plus sign (if you need help with this, check out my super quick tutorial that uses Google Maps).

3. Once you have three locations, zoom out to view all of them. Make sure the menu in the upper left is expanded.

4. Click and drag the locations in your menu until they are in the most efficient order.

5. Use the Windows Snipping Tool to save a picture of your route and menu to your computer.

6. Write and record a 30-60 second "tour" of these locations using Audacity. You will have about 10 or 20 seconds with each location to tell me why you love it. Consider writing it out first in order to sound competent! Be sure to record them in the order they appear on your map!

7. Save tour as an WAV.

If you finish the project after our in-class time, please send Mr. Alexander the .wav file and not the .aup file, in addition to the .png file from the Windows Snipping Tool.
