Scare.NET

5 Points

Make sure you know how to use Paint.NET (Adventure Image or You're The Star!) before you do this assignment!

In this extra credit assignment you will create a scary picture using layers. Add one image to a picture or photo that you select as your main image. The new image you are adding must look as if it was a part of the original photo (not a cartoon mixed with real life or something like that). You can be as creative as you like, but your final scary image must be an original composition from several different sources.

As far as recommendations, here's an example: Find a photo or image (in Google images) of a little boy picking beautiful daisies at a pond that is filled with ducks swimming in the background. However, you create a new layer using an image of a scary alligator to look as if it is sneaking up behind the little boy, and the little boy has no clue the alligator is there. I would recommend that peril exists for an innocent character in each of your pictures. My example is below! (To see a fantastic, student-made example that was made using the blur tool and layers, see here!)

Remember the key to this project is that it must look as real as possible and it must contain at least one new layer. You will likely use more than one new layer! All of the layers created in the project must be "Named", and you can use any of the Paint.NET tools to create your "Scary Photo" and make it as real looking as possible.

Can I do this extra credit from home?: MAYBE (can you download Paint.NET on your computer? Do you have a similar image modification program?)
