Having not been over impressed by the GoldenEye music soundtrack by Eric Nikita Serra when I saw Pierce Brosnan's first outing as the super spy, I didn't rush out to buy this CD. I gave it a listen after coming cross it in a Sale ( reduced to £10 - most film soundtracks in the UK started around £14 ).
Pleasantly surprised as the music works better away from the film with more use of the James Bond Theme. The best track (10) is called A Pleasant Drive ... which includes the James Bond Theme and is used with great effect during the film's tank chase but on this album Serra seems to throw the kitchen sink in as well with surprising results. Also enjoyable is the orchestral love theme for the film and of course Tina Turner's performance of the title song. Shame about Serra's end song which is one of the weakest of the 007 series.
If not already done so, give it a late try like me, as essential for all 007 fans' music collections.
