Uncovering the Invisible Universe: Our 4th and 5th Grade Science Adventure!
Get ready to zoom in and discover the hidden structures of our world! 4th and 5th graders are embarking on an unforgettable, hands-on scientific journey into microscopy, cell biology, and molecular science. Transforming into real-world researchers, students will master the "scientist's eye" as they use microscopes to examine everything from inverted letter images and live pond water micro-communities to plant stomata, crystalline structures, and the high-tech anti-counterfeiting micro-printing on currency! Driven by high-level thinking routines, our young biologists will compare the rigid cellulose "bricks" of plant cells against the flexible "balloons" of animal cells, investigate how organelle synergy powers life, and connect atomic rules to real-world global systems. To demonstrate their mastery, students will collaborate in strategy teams to choose from an interactive Activity Menu—creating everything from organelle conflict comic strips and 3D models to "Mitochondria Power Outage" newspaper articles and Canva cell-system posters. Finally, after rigorous peer reviews through the "Grandma Test," students will share their creations and synthesized insights during our exciting Micro-Universe Exhibition!
