November 20 - Today the book consultant was Yassmeen. The book she presented was titled The Comedy of Errors. The word person was Jacob. He presented the word livid, it means furiously angry. Our stem project was very fun. We were doing open and closed circuits. We did parallel open and closed circuits. We all tried different approaches. All of us were successful at making circuits at the end. Some of us even blew up some light bulbs! We all had fun preparing for the STEM project.
November 6 - Today there was no book consultant or word of the day. We made our big builds with the packing peanuts and toothpicks. Most of the builds stood up until the end, due to a sturdy base. Some of the groups even tried to do a BONUS wind storm! We completed a self rubric on how we did on our projects. All the groups has very different ideas\strategies and most of them succeeded. We all had a LOT of fun doing this stem project today.

October 30 - Today there was no book consultant or word. Today we tested are materials for our stem project next week. The materials we used were packing peanuts and toothpicks. We found out our groups: (McKenna ,Eve, Amelia C.) ,(Sara, Harrison, Natalie) , (Anne, Emmett, Jacob) ,(Emily, Erin, Grace),(Mina, Amelia R., Yassmeen ),(Juniper, Azaiah). All the groups figured out the project ideas. We ended the day with a fun writing task on Sense of a Goose with Jolly Ranchers!!

October 23 - The word of the day is visage, it means the look on a face. The habit of mind was thinking about your thinking. The book consultant was Grace Chen. The book she chose was Wild Wave by Rodman Philbrick. We would highly suggest this book to readers it was rated a 4 out of 5. We had a Socratic seminar and we all felt good about how we preformed especially the 4th graders they did an amazing job! The 4th graders did just as well as the 5th graders. We all had an amazing day at QUEST. We learned how some people may only speak a couple of times but may have very deep and interesting topics while others may speak a lot and not have that deep and interesting ideas. We can't wait for our next class!

October 16 - The word of the week was din, meaning strident, continual noise. The habit of mind was flexible thinking. QUEST is all about flexible thinking. Today we created our deep questions for the seminar next week. We learned how to sort questions that are great for seminar. The book consultant was Harrison. He presented the book The Giver by Lois Lowery.
October 9 - The word of the week was allude. The habit of mind was Listening with Empathy and Understanding. This week was our first STEM build. The battle of strength versus height. It was an epic build of index cards. Mina, Emmett, and Harrison's build made the 24 inch Index Card Hall of Fame. Jacob, Emily, and Eve are in the 21 inch Index Card Hall of Fame. Amelia C. was our book consultant. She presented Gordon Korman's Restart.
October 2 - No School
Today is 9/25/25. The book consultant of the day was Sarah. She presented The Eyes and the Impossible. Today's word of the day was wistful. We read Whoosh a book about Lonnie Johnson the inventor of the Super Soaker and a bunch of other things. We began reading A Sense Of A Goose. This short story we are using for our first seminar.
September 17 - Today's word of the day is melancholy, meaning sad. The habit of mind is managing impulsivity, thinking before you act. The book consultant is McKenna and she presented A Night Divided. We played a game using tarps. Six people were on each tarp and they had to flip it over while still standingn on the tarp. It was so much fun! We also talked about characteristics of engineers.
September 11 - Today is the first day of QUEST. The word of the week was exquisite meaning beautifully made, Anne was our presenter. The habit of mind was persisting. The book consultant was Mina who presented Uprising by Jennifer Nielson. Met the incredible puppet Bobby and was introduced to Jeffrey Bartholomew. We read Ten Bird and learned not to be a bird. We had a fire drill. Today was an exquisite day at QUEST.
