Exeter High School Student-Run Newspaper!
The Senior Social is a Halloween bash for the seniors that happens every year. Every student wears a costume, and there is a contest for who’s is the best. There are spooky snacks, candy and drinks as well. The cafeteria and main entrance are decorated to match the festive theme along with activities like corn hole. The cafeteria is lit up with colorful lights and a DJ busting out some spectacular tunes.
The social lasted 2 hours 8pm-10pm on the night of Saturday 25th. The judges had three categories to pick from: Single costume (one person), duo costume (2 people) and then a group costume. Each winner got prizes for being the best dressed. Despite happening every year, in all honesty, the dance didn’t have much of a turnout unfortunately. There were close to the same amount of chaperones as there were students attending. The costumes were impressive, though, those that were noted as the best costumes were the Pillsbury dough boy, the robber and jewelry from the recent Louvre robbery, and an angel & devil.
This was a fun and creative opportunity for friends to get together for another dance and to hangout. Corn hole was a pleasurable side activity to play, along with four square on the dance floor. There were a couple songs that everyone got on the floor to jam out to like the Cotton Eye Joe. Chaperones were dressed up as well in costumes such as; a lobster, fairy and other fun costumes.
*Sadly we were not able to access photos of the winners this year*
