Exeter High School Student-Run Newspaper!
Happy May, EHS!
I hope you had a fantastic April Break. Before spring break, you may recall heading to the gym for the informative and fun College Career Fair! Thanks to the EHS school counseling department, students could meet and speak to various representatives of a multitude of paths for students to take in their future. Each booth was decked out with information and flyers, as well as fun merchandise for students to take home. Respective representatives were very prideful for whomever they represented and were sociable, persuasive, and encouraging of questions about their booth.
There were around 80+ booths. Students could explore work opportunities, military careers, and colleges and universities. All are explained in the below drop-down categories!
The first section I will write about were the areas of work following graduation, and even during high school, like a part-time job. Local occupations in the community of Exeter and even a bit further had representatives and their booths stationed on the right and left sides of the gym near the bleachers. Some booths you may have seen are below:
Advanced Trade School, City Year NH, Empire Beauty, Exeter Police Department, Exeter Area YMCA, Exeter Hospital, Job Corp, Lindt Chocolate, NH Fire Service, NH School of Mechanical Trades, NH Youth Apprenticeship, Paul Mitchell, Portsmouth Hospital, and Verto Education.
In addition to possible careers, there were also representatives for the military for any student interested in joining the Armed Forces following their graduation. In the back of the gym, near the rear building door stood the NH Air National Guard, US Air Force, US Army, US Marines, and US Navy booths. You may have found yourself doing push-ups for some merch!
These booths and their respective representatives covered the majority of the gym. From private, to community, to local, and even to states or abroad, there was a large selection of different schools. You may have visited many of the booths yourself; but if you missed out, here is a list of all those who attended:
Assumption College, Bay Path University, Binghamton University, Bryant University, Champlain College, Colby-Sawyer College, College of Charleston, Curry College, Dean College, Dickinson College, Hofstra University, Husson University, Gordon College, Great Bay Community College, Florida Institute of Technology, Franklin Pierce University, Endicott College, Fitchburg State University, Elizabethtown College, Emmanuel College, Johnson & Wales University, Keene State College, Lakes Region Community College, Lasell College, Lincoln Technical Institute, Maine College of Art & Design, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Science, Merrimack College, Miami University-Oxford, Nashua Community College, Roger Williams University, Saint Anslem College, Regis College, Rivier University, Providence College, Quinnipiac University, Northern Essex Community College, Plymouth State University, New England College, Nichols College, Salem State University, Salve Regina University, Simmons College, Southern New Hampshire University, Sterling College, Suffolk University, Syracuse University, Trinity College-Dublin, University of Connecticut, University of Southern Maine, Wentworth Institute of Technology, University of Pittsburgh, University of Rhode Island, University of New Hampshire-Manchester, University of New Haven, University of Massachusetts at Lowell, University of New Hampshire, University of Maine, University of Maine at Farmington, Wheaton College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, York County Community College, and Vermont State University.
