Exeter High School Student-Run Newspaper!
Every year, the Exeter Blue Hawks celebrate homecoming week, when all athletic games are played against our bitter rivals, the Winnacunnet Warriors. And every year there are dress up days during that week, but unlike other schools around the area; there’s no homecoming dance, until this year.
About 10 years ago, Exeter High School did have homecoming dances similar to the rest of the country. However that year was going to be the last, until now. After some inappropriate events took place on the dance floor that night, Exeter banned homecoming dances until this year. It was an extreme punishment that later classes had to face, and it was unfair to restrict homecoming dances to future classes that were not even in the school system yet.
Now with the new administration, there have been many changes throughout the school, but one of the positive changes being the homecoming dance. It was held in the cafeteria this year, open to all grades and ran from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Hopefully, it’s the start of more future homecoming dances.
