This week, several of our classes received a special visit from the wonderful Knowledge Keeper, Cookem Daisy. The students were engaged and excited to learn new recipes, skills, and important cultural wisdom! Thank you, Knowledge Keeper Cookem Daisy, for sharing your gifts with us!
M. Alex's 5/6 students were able to examine numerous First Nation artifacts. They explored the items in various categories, as if they were in a museum. Luckily for us, they were able to touch and really interact with the items. Many items were previously unknown to us, but they truly demonstrated the knowledge that First Nations people possessed before contact.
Mme Kirsten’s grade ½ class has been busy exploring new math concepts this month! We’ve been learning how to produce, identify and prolong various patterns as well as how to represent numbers using various math manipulatives. The students are eager to learn and always look forward to our next math concept!
