Our high school hosted its first La Guerre des Couleurs, where students from grades 10 to 12 welcomed the new grade 9 students, introducing them to their assigned colour teams—Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow.
The energy was electric as all the teams came together in the gym to participate in a series of fun and challenging activities. With laughter filling the air, students showcased their teamwork and competitive spirit, battling it out to earn the most points and take the early lead for upcoming events.
This memorable day was not only about competition but also about building connections and school spirit. A huge thank you goes to the Student Council for their dedication and hard work in organizing such a fantastic event. Here’s to many more exciting La Guerre des Couleurs to come!
It’s been a busy and exciting start to the fall in Grade 7/8!
In science, we’ve been exploring the cells unit — learning about the building blocks of life and how each tiny part of a cell plays an important role in keeping living things alive. Students are practicing their microscope skills and getting a closer look (literally!) at what makes up plants and animals.
Sports are in full swing! A huge congratulations to all those who took part in the Cross Country race — we’re so proud of your effort, determination, and school spirit. Way to go, team!
In French and ELA, we’ve been diving deep into reading and writing. Students are exploring new stories, reflecting on characters and themes, and expressing their own ideas through creative and personal writing. It’s been great to see everyone thinking critically and building confidence as writers and readers.
Working memory is like your child’s “mental sticky note.” It helps them hold on to information just long enough to use it—whether that’s remembering directions, keeping track of steps in a math problem, or recalling what to say next in a conversation. Children use working memory every day at school and at home.
When working memory is strong, kids can follow multi-step directions, stay focused, and complete tasks more easily. When it’s weak, they might forget what they were doing mid-task, lose track of instructions, or struggle to remember what they just read.
You can help your child strengthen their working memory by breaking tasks into smaller steps, using visuals or checklists, and encouraging repetition and routine. With support and practice, working memory skills can grow—helping your child become more confident and independent learners.
The highschool boys' soccer team (co-op with Grunthal) finished in 4th place at the zones tournament after a close game against Gabrielle-Roy where our team ended up losing 4-3.
The Niverville Nighthawks, a local Junior A hockey team based out of Niverville has partnered with generous sponsors to make a positive impact in our community. Through this initiative, they aim to provide complimentary hockey tickets to students and families who may not have the means to attend otherwise.
We have been given tickets to share with our school community! This initiative is about sharing the joy of hockey with families who may not otherwise have the chance, and we ask that you consider that when signing up.
If you would like to be included in the ticket draws, please follow this link to enter your information. The winners will be announced the week before the game when possible.
Last week, our Kindergarten to Grade 6 students had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate on a large community mural with the group LA FRANCODÉROLE. Alongside students from École communautaire Réal Bérard, our young artists came together to paint a vibrant, colourful mural celebrating creativity and community.
Each class contributed their own unique part showing teamwork, artistic skill, and pride in our shared community. We are so proud of our students for their enthusiasm, focus, and creativity throughout the project.
The final mural will be displayed in the town of St-Pierre-Jolys for everyone to enjoy and appreciate!
