This past week
Mme Aliane’s grade 3/4 class celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a hands-on math activity using Lucky Charms cereal as manipulatives! The students had fun exploring the topics of estimation, measurement, graphs, multiplication & division, as well as fractions.
The Maternelle M1 class has been deeply engaged in exploring the concept of measurement, focusing on comparing objects by their height and length. Through a combination of individual, paired, and group activities, the students have been learning to estimate and measure various objects using strings of different lengths. This hands-on approach has helped them understand the importance of alignment and how to estimate sizes accurately. They have also been practicing how to arrange and order objects from smallest to largest, reinforcing their understanding of size comparisons. By engaging with these practical activities, the students are building foundational skills in measurement that will be valuable as they continue to develop their mathematical understanding.
The Outdoor Education students are wrapping up their wood carving unit and putting the finishing touches on their spoons.
Congratulations!
