If you are hoping to buy something as a holiday present for your child, please let the office know and we will put it aside for you to pick up when the order is ready.
The order deadline is SUNDAY NOVEMBER 24TH, 2024 at 11:59pm. After this date, you will be unable to order for the remainder of the school year. If you choose to order, your items will be packaged individually and will be sent home before December 20th.
DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER
Winter is just around the corner! Since students spend a significant amount of time outdoors—typically 1 1/2 to 2 hours per day—it's essential that they are dressed appropriately for the cold and snow. Recess will only be held indoors in cases of extreme cold.
For our younger students, we recommend sending an extra pair of mittens or gloves and a spare set of socks, just in case their first pair gets wet or lost during play. For middle years students, a good pair of winter boots (rather than runners or slip-on shoes) is highly recommended, along with a warm jacket, toque, and either ski pants or additional layers to keep them comfortable during outdoor activities.
Thank you for helping ensure your child is well-prepared for winter weather!
WINTER TOWN BUS
As the colder weather approaches, we want to ensure that our students have a reliable transportation option during the winter months. To support families living within town limits, we are pleased to offer a winter town bus service. The bus will be available from approximately December 2 until Spring Break. Please note that the service will be organized by cluster pick-up points, rather than door-to-door service.
If you are interested in having your child(ren) use this service, please let us know by emailing the school at heritage@rrvsd.ca.
School spirit is alive and well at Ecole Heritage! Students in grades 9-12 participated in an exciting game of Loup-garou to earn points for la guerre des couleurs. Thanks to the Student Council for their hard work organizing this activity.
In Mme Allie's 1/2 class we have been working on learning and reviewing new French complex sounds. We are having fun playing musical chairs with our sounds!! We have also had the pleasure of having Cookem Daisy join our class again for an amazing presentation. She presented us with a wild rice with fruit and maple syrup dish. We learned how this dish has connections to the Earth and how each ingredient used in this dish came from the Earth. We were also happy to have a grade 5 student come and read to the class! In Math class we are continuing to work together to develop and learn new skills through the Thinking Building Classroom Model. This gives the students the chance to share their thinking process within their group! Happy learning!!
Working with maternelle students & helping at the book fair.
Students participate in a sofa game, a brain break activity that challenges various learner skills, such as memory, attention and strategy. This activity, integrated into an educational setting, aims to help students improve their concentration, reduce their stress and revitalize their energy.
Mme. Janelle's Coup de Pousse class enjoyed working on their colour craft and playing games in their centres.
