Our grade 5 and 6 students had a blast at the Manitoba Museum learning about the universe at the planetarium, exploring science concepts in the science museum, and visiting Manitoba’s history in the main museum exhibits!
We’ve been very busy in the music room! We’ve been practicing our skills using all kinds of materials, even popsicle sticks.
In the older grades, we’re learning some line dances like Footloose.
The grades 6 students had the opportunity to tryout some wind instruments. Big thank you to the junior band for their help!
And this week, we had our final concert of the year for the grades 7-12. We took the opportunity to honour our graduating music students too. It was a beautiful evening celebrating a very busy, successful and fulfilling year of music-making!
Our very first Francolorama was a great success! Students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 had a wonderful time participating in engaging activities and celebrating the French language together.
From lizards to tiny Rooms- So much Art!
The art room has been buzzing with creativity! Kindergarten students are preparing jungle themed artwork for their upcoming graduation, including leafy creations, lizards, and colourful 3D parrots, with help from the Mme Brigitte’s 3/4 class. So wonderful to see them working together!
Grades 1 to 4 have been exploring sculpture, drawing, sketching and painting. From sculpted donuts to sketching practice and colour mixing, they’ve been developing both imagination and technique. The Grade 3/4s are also learning about local artist Réal Bérard and are diving into embroidery!
Grade 5/6 students have created challenging textured material collage landscapes and explored how to express a single image in different visual styles. Grade 7/8s created animal sculptures exploring their designing skills while also problem-solving. They are also currently creating a beautiful window mural for Rat River Recreation.
High school students have been busy building creative 3D miniature rooms, using everyday items in clever ways. Amazing! They have also been planning and designing mural ideas, which we’re excited to start painting this week. They will also be creating a mosaic to brighten up the staff room!
