A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Parent Advisory Council for treating our staff to a delicious pizza and salad lunch last week. Your generosity truly warms our hearts, and we feel so appreciated. Thank you for making our day!
Last week we celebrated Staff Appreciation Week by treating our amazing team with Perk coffee and baked goods. We'd like to thank each and every member of our staff for their hard work and commitment, the care you show to our students make a lasting impact every day. We are so grateful to have such a dedicated team!
The grade 9s are starting the new semester with a lot of reading and writing. Each day we read for fifteen minutes in class. We also celebrate reading with Book Talks. February is Black History Month so a lot of book talks have highlighted Black writers. We look forward to discovering new authors and genres in the upcoming months.
The M2 Maternelle students have been learning so many new things these last few weeks! We've been doing interactive writing on a daily basis in our message of the day. We've been learning about concepts of print and the key components found in a sentence. We've even started learning about friend letters that create different sounds in a word. They've been practicing how to form letters and putting sounds together when labelling their drawings.
We've also been having fun making Valentine's Day crafts and learning about the Festival du Voyageur, while also learning to sort objects in different groups using different criteria.
The students of Grades 5/6 of Mme Salina and M. Bertrand enjoyed a beautiful, crisp winter's day at Festival du Voyageur! The event was a success and the students represented École Héritage Immersion with pride and enthusiasm. A big thank you to Chelsi, Kelley, Breann, Catalina, and Megan for volunteering. Hé Ho!
This week, Mr. T's Outdoor Ed class started working on making wooden spoons. The students started with a full log of wood and began widdling the shapes of their spoons. The students will work diligently this week and next to shape and sand their spoons that have been made from scratch.
