Attendance Matters
We kindly ask families to continue supporting regular student attendance. Consistent participation in class is crucial for students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for success and progress in their courses. This is especially important for high school students, as staying engaged in daily learning helps them stay on track to earn credits and move forward in their studies.
If your child needs to be absent for an extended period, please reach out to a member of the administration team to discuss how we can best support their learning during this time.
Please note that we do not offer distance education or remote learning options. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child's continued success.
The grade 1/2s have been learning and writing about polar bears this week. We have also started working on basic addition and subtraction facts.
This week we were so excited to welcome a couple grade 9 students in our class who helped us complete a snowman project. We can't wait until the next time we have them over.
Mme Brigitte’s Grade 3/4 class began the year radiant and full of energy with our annual Glow Week theme. Throughout the week, students engaged in illuminating activities and completed glowing challenges. The highlight of the week was a math escape room centered on multiplication and division problems, paired with games.
We’re thrilled to share that every group successfully escaped just in time to kick off the weekend!
Our Grade 9 Le Monde dans le Canada Contemporain class has had a busy couple of weeks. We were fortunate to have a guest presentation from Ava Pilotte, a 12th-grade student, who shared her experience with the Legislative Page Program. Her first-hand insights helped our students better understand the legislative process.
The Grade 9 students also participated in a parliamentary committee simulation. In this exercise, they assumed various roles within parliament to decide whether to pass a law limiting social media in classrooms. One class voted to pass the law, while the other chose to abolish it. Next, the students will prepare debates on the Canadian justice system.
9th grade Science students worked on classifying scientific elements based on their properties.
Lastly, our Plein Air class had the opportunity to practice building fires at Parc Carillon, and they were rewarded with a hot dog lunch!
Mme Ashley’s grade 7/8 class has been learning about world geography as well as informative reading and writing. The students have begun an independent novel study and have been hard at work. We have also been working with Mme Michelle’s maternelle class and helping them learn the French language.
