ABSTRACT

One of the greatest gifts given from above was the Human brain. The goodness it involves, the positivity it brings, and the virtue bestowed upon it is like no other. However, with every good, comes evil. One evil that has distorted the human brain and taken away from man’s true purpose of life has been the abuse of controlled substances. Be it Adderall, Xanax, Norco (Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone) or any of the many controlled substances, they have caused severe harm to their victims. Whether or not it is their fault is a different story, but what is certain is that the human being who is addicted to these substances is heading towards a dangerous path. When it comes to its effects on the human, they are numerous, and all revolve around negative doings. The misuse of controlled substances affects greatly the day-to-day life of its victims and negatively impacts the brain in ways we cannot even imagine. Through this piece, the author will describe eight of the most common controlled substances and explore how they impact the human being.
