Outstanding Business Student of the Year: JACOB GERNAAT

Jacob Gernaat is an outstanding accounting major and business student. Jacob has worked hard as a business major and as a member of Rochester University's golf team. His efforts to juggle both his athletic competition and schoolwork prove that he can manage his time well. Still, that does not stop him from going above and beyond to participate in the RISE mentoring program and attend networking and professional development opportunities presented to him. We know that Jacob will represent the university and our program well as he ventures into the next phase of his life and career. We appreciate you, Jacob, and wish you the very best!

Oustanding Mass Communication Students: ALEX HUGHES AND JENNIFER ECKENWILER

Alex Hughes has worked full time while earning his accelerated degree. He brings excellence to all that he does. His critical thinking, attention to detail, and exceptional application of ideas and theories to the real world shines through in his work. He is creative and passionate. He will have a big impact on any organization that he works for, and we will be proud to call him an RU alumnus.

Jennifer Eckenwiler exhibits professional-level work in all that she does. She holds herself to a high standard and is eager to keep learning and growing. She is creative and has a passion to use her talents to serve others. She will represent RU well as she goes forward to serve in God's world.

Catherine Bennett

Shield Media – Social Media Manager

Cate has been an integral part of the Shield Media staff since transferring to RU just a year ago. As social media manager, Cate has been creative and informative with Shield's social media efforts. She also is a strong writer and valued team leader. She graduates in December 2021, so we are thankful to have her for one more semester on our team.

Brad Miller

Shield Media – Features Editor

Brad has been a member of Shield Media during his entire collegiate career. He started out as a writer and moved into a features editor role. He is a strong writer and especially enjoys reviewing movies. Brad is reliable, dedicated and always willing to take on extra work. He's a true team player and will be missed!

Ciarra Ratliff

Shield Media – Creative Director

Ciarra has been an integral part of our design team for several semesters, including photography manager and creative director. She has a sharp eye for design and knows how to combine words, art and photos to create a unified, stylish piece. She is talented, reliable and a valued team member. We will miss her!
