Peggy Mathews Award: AUTUMN DOBRIC

This award is given to the female athlete who best demonstrates Christian sportsmanship.

Autumn Dobrick has been such a huge contributor to the athletic program in so many ways. She not only excels on the field, but also has the ability to connect with her teammates off the field. Being the only captain for two years has given her the ability and confidence to respond to obstacles and overcome adversity. She continues to lead by example academically and athletically, even through this difficult year. The athletic department nominates Autumn Dobrick for this award because she has been a true blessing to coach for these last four years and her presence within the Rochester University softball program will live on for years to come.

Wes Taphin Award: DANIEL MONEAR

This award is given to the male athlete who best demonstrates Christian sportsmanship.

Dan Monear has been a staple of the athletic program for five years now. Every one of those years he has been a starter for RU on the mound and a leader both on and off the field. On the diamond, Dan is a career leader in a number of pitching categories and is top 10 in many others. He has worked as hard as anybody to transform his body, improve his physical capabilities and work on his craft. As an underclassman, he was a part of the leadership council and although we do not have leadership titles on the team, he would undoubtedly bear the mantle of captain. He is incredibly reliable and hard-working and is an outstanding teammate. He is as good of a servant leader as has ever come through the program. Not only will he outwork anybody, he will take his teammates along for the ride to get better. It has been incredible to see Dan grow both in baseball and as a man over the past five years. There is no one more deserving of this award than him.
