ABSTRACT
The focus of this is how apologies in the media should be conducted. The particular incident utilized for the study was an apology that should have been conducted in a more appropriate manner that addressed the primary issue directly. When individuals in the media do not directly address the issues the face it makes their apologies seem like it is not sincere. Not properly structuring apologies can cause controversy for those in the media and bring more negative attention than what the person is apologizing for. When a person apologizes for something they should openly state why they are wrong, so that they can better relate to those that they offended and help them understand. If people cannot understand where the person apologizing is coming from they can have more difficulty forgiving and letting negative feelings go. When that is done it can be easier for both parties to move on.
