ABSTRACT
“Children’s Books for All” by Kelly Brown is a proposal for books to be purchased for use in a preschool classroom and take-home library. The proposal is to be used to purchase diverse and multicultural books that help explain different types of emotions, picture books, fairy tales, and poetry books. This grant will also be used to purchase more books to help children learn about science, math, rhyming, ABC’s and informational books. By receiving this grant, teachers will be able to spend more time reading to children books that they are interested in about subjects that pertain to their current lives. Children will be able to be more engaged during story time and grow more in their language development. By allowing children to check out books from the classroom library, they will be spending more time in their language development outside of the classroom as well as having more parent interaction at home. Teachers will be able to focus on retelling stories with children, producing science experiments in class, and helping children to grow and excel in other areas of their development.
