ABSTRACT

At Little Learners Academy, they always say it important to read every day. The grant proposal, Project RED (Read Every Day), will require $6,000 and will help 36 preschool students develop the love for reading that they will need to be successful in school. The goal for Project RED is to improve standardized test scores. Most of the students who attend Little Learners Academy do not have access to books at home and their parents do not understand the importance of reading to a young child. The $6,000 that Project RED provides will help to ensure that children will have books and literacy activities easily accessible to them. Project RED will also provide parents with the tools that they need to help their children to develop successful literacy skills. The success of Project RED will be measured by the improvement of the test scores in the preschool classroom over the course of the school year.
