Each year, the School of Nursing recognizes one outstanding student with the Stogner Award. The Stogner Award is presented to a student that embodies a strong work ethic, integrity, compassion, and appreciation for interdisciplinary cooperation and Yoda-like wisdom. This year’s recipient has demonstrated strong leadership skills as the President of the Student Nurses Association. She shows compassion and kindness for her classmates and works hard to assure they are doing well, often checking in on the underclassmen. As a tutor in the ACE Lab, she displays both patience and wisdom. She is giving of her time, volunteering as a counselor for the REAL Science summer camp, a first aid provider with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk, attending Warrior Serve events, and many more. It is with great pride that the School of Nursing honors Miranda Wolanin with the Stogner Award for this year. Congratulations Miranda!
