Q1:

What birds can be observed in Idaho?

Students were given the opportunity to chose a bird. The birds that they were able to selected were preselected by the teacher as birds that would be seen in Idaho. Once the bird was chosen, the students work on drawing a picture of the bird as seen on the bird card they chose. After that the students practiced writing the 3 sentences, for the final project the students took their sentences and picture to create a whole class published book.

Before working on their bird books. Students learned about their senses and how they would use them to observe birds outside.

Before the students were ready to start on their bird book they described the different parts of the bird. They talked about how each part of the bird helped the bird survive.
