The California Gold Rush

The students read a firsthand and secondhand account of the same historical event (California Gold Rush).They compared and contrasted the information they learned about that historical event. Finally, they used the two accounts to build a clear understanding of the historical event in order to write an informational Newspaper article about the event. In the newspaper article it incorporate quotes and facts from the accounts they had read.
