Description:  The level 1 Spanish class is an introductory course which is offered to students who may be studying this language for the first time, or did not pass the LOTE checkpoint A exam with a 65 or better and/or did not pass middle school Spanish 1 with a 65 or higher.  Students will develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and learn a broad array of vocabulary in the target language.  Spanish is presented in culturally relevant situations so that students become acquainted with the civilization, lifestyle and customs of the target culture.  Students in the graduation class of 2005 and after must pass a language course to be eligible for a high school diploma.
